Well, last weekend I drove down to Miami for the Winter Music Conference...a huge annual DJ convention. I was down there for friday and saturday and saw some insane acts like Rusko, Annie Mac and Diplo with Lil Jon as his MC.
The timeline was friday i arrived at 2pm and hit Annie Mac's South Beach party. Later I had tickets to see some djs and a band at this Miami bar. around 3am or so i walked around the corner to annie's official after party. Saturday was chill-out beach time. then around 9pm i went to the free art gallery/warehouse club to see the Mad Decent crew. that was the best party because not only were there awesome djs, but there was no cover and drinks were free! what?!
it was super nasty crazy! here are the pics:

STS-119 Discovery Shuttle Launch
Last night was my first shuttle launch! Drove to KSC at about 4:30pm and set up for a 3 hour tailgate in the parking lot next to the LCC and VAB. where we watched is the closest you can get without actually being in the shuttle.
here's our tailgate party pics:
then we heard T-1:30 so we got into positions to watch:
it was so cool too because the sun was setting and at a certain point was shining through the exhaust smoke and made it look all rainbow-y. really cool:
oh man and the sound was ridiculous. it was kinda like having your head stuck in a motorcycle's tailpipe and revving the engine. here's my video of the launch where you can kinda get an idea of how loud it is. jefferson!

Delta II Launch
Last night i got to see my first launch! it was a Delta II rocket the Kepler telescope was the payload. The delta II is a smaller rocket and the payload weighed about half as much as 1 of our carriers so something like 2 tons...we have 4 carriers. That means the delta rocket moves way faster than the shuttle.
i watched the launch from the tiki bar on the port, where we went right after work...which meant we were there for like 5 hours. you can tell we've been there for a while from the pics:
I took a nice video of the rocket going up. I was running low on batteries, but luckily it lasted till the rocket just went out of frame. i wish it went a little bit longer, because i didn't capture the sweet roar of the engines.
Wednesday is shuttle launch which i'll get some more footage and i'll make sure i bring batteries!
